This spreading, hairy herb has broad leaves and blue or pink flowers. The Native Crows Foot can be found in sandhill country. It is especially abundant after autumn or winter rains. It is a quick growing plant that is encouraged by drought and fire.
The tuber of this plant is roasted in coals before eating. As Native Crows Foot is common during droughts, the seeds are often used as food when other foods are scarce. |
